Recon, List Field, Bonfire, BlazeAid.

Adelle and I went on a recon of the site to see the manager, get some photos, and check our booking sheet was correct. We had a good look around, got permission to put the freezer trailer in a better spot, and correlated the booking sheets to the rooms - everything was correct.

The first photo is a photo to show people the list field. It is an oval, and we will have the royal tent at one end of the oval island, standing spectators slightly below the action in the 'moat' and Period Pavillions and seated spectators on the 'banks'.

The second photo will show a piece of good fortune. The site manager was going to have a large burn off. The site has a prepared large stack of wood., and thought we might like to use the bonfire as part of our event. I know their are plenty of people who love a good fire, so I said yes. Yes, that pile of wood is much bigger than Adelle.

The third photo is a picture of the approach road. The site is even easier to find now with the very bright BlazeAid sign. BlazeAid is an organisation that has charity workers rebuilding damaged fences on farms affected by the flood. The scout camp is allowing these volunteers to use the camping facilities at the back of site. The site manager has ssured us that all but one of the caravans and campers will be well hidden. The remaining one, his, cannot be moved. We will block the view of this camper with cunning tent placement. On the Friday of the event, there will be even more SCA specific signage as well.
